Turning challenges into personal growth.

Michelle Levine Consulting Services is led by Dr. Michelle Levine, a cognitive psychologist specializing in human interaction and communication.

For fifteen years, Dr. Levine was a professor at Barnard College and Columbia University. She taught classes across psychology and computer science departments while advising hundreds of students on their academic and career path. Over the past few years, she expanded her services beyond the university setting to support high school students through the college application process and beyond. She assists with everything from strengthening organizational and writing skills to selecting courses, securing internships, and navigating social dynamics. Her goal is to provide comprehensive guidance at every step, ensuring a smooth transition into college life and a successful undergraduate experience.

While in academia, she co-led Department of Defense funded research that investigated deceptive speech across gender, cultures and personalities. This included administering hundreds of personality inventories to analyze how people align or misalign in communication. As a specialist in psycholinguistics—the psychology of language—Dr. Levine understands the profound impact that even small changes in wording can have. She has taught courses on this topic and applies these skills in her personal life, including during an eight-year high-conflict divorce, where she navigated complex interactions with numerous legal and professional advisors. Most recently she has worked with clients of all ages to help understand how to best communicate across particular settings.

As a prior clinician, she has worked in community and hospital inpatient mental health settings. She has advanced certification in rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT) as well as other specialties such as conflict resolution. Through these experiences she has gained a unique skillset to provide practical real-life support and leadership skills for people of all ages.
